Our story
We begun our skating club because we wanted to honor the memory of our late friend, Mary Catherine-Henson. Who sadly passed away on Valentine's Day 2025, from brain cancer at 55.
So, Jane and Joshua started the club in her memory by teaching new up and coming children, teens and adults the art of roller skating. Whether they wish to take it to competition level or not.
Jane and Julia, met up and discussed starting a trial at Wombourne Leisure Centre. After which, Josh and a few of our coaches joined us. After a few weeks, Steve joined the committee. Jane, Julia and Josh are the original founders of the club. With our newest members and team helping to continue to build the foundations.
It was all done in honor of our friend Mary and we wish she could have been here to see it happen. But we honor here with the color purple and the wings on the roller skating. That is present on our T-shirts, jackets and club.
When we can start hosting more events, we hope to donate the profits to the hospice that Mary remained in before she passed away.
Our history
We originally were searching for somewhere to teach skating, we looked at Tamworth, Cheadle and Biddulph. Before deciding to start up at Wombourne Leisure Centre. We met some ladies who were interested in learning to skate and so begins the start of Skate G-Force ARSC.
We have been skating here since February 2026, and have held sessions, public skating and an Easter roller disco so far. We are now in a position to welcome more people to our club, if they are interested in taking up roller skating for lessons, competition or fun skating. Our coaches are graded to FARS standard, which is the Federation Artistic Roller Skating.
We hope to see you at one of our sessions in the future on Saturday afternoons from 16:00pm - 17:30pm.
